Hundreds of people gathered at Blackstone and Alluvial avenues on Thursday as passing motorists honked their support of immigrant rights as part of the May 1st Coalition’s annual rally and march.
Stan Santos, a spokesperson for the coalition, said the event aimed to show solidarity with working immigrant families in the Central Valley and across the U.S.
There were no anti-protesters visible at the scene.
The crowd planned to march to the Mexican Consul and Tesla, calling for an end to the criminalization of immigrants.
