The Clovis Police Department has released its list of the top 10 intersections for collisions in 2024, highlighting areas where drivers should use extra caution.

The list remains largely consistent with previous years, and several intersections also appear among the city’s top locations for traffic citations.

In 2024, officers responded to 1,510 collisions — a 3.7% increase from 2023. Of those crashes, 228 resulted in at least one injury, police said.

Police say Friday was the most common day for collisions, with the highest number of incidents occurring between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m.

The intersections with the highest number of collisions are:

  1. Shaw and Willow avenues: 27
  2. Herndon and Clovis avenues: 24
  3. Herndon and Fowler avenues: 18
  4. Shaw and Minnewawa avenues: 14
  5. Shaw and Peach avenues : 12
  6. Herndon and Villa avenues: 12
  7. 2270 Clovis (Costco): 12
  8. Shaw and Clovis avenues: 12
  9. Shaw and Villa avenues: 10
  10. Shaw and Cole avenues: 10

The Police Department urges drivers to limit distractions, wear seatbelts, slow down in inclement weather, and obey posted speed limits.

More detailed statistics will be included in the upcoming 2024 End of Year Crime Summary, officials said.
