Authorities are investigating the death of a 19-year-old Selma resident following a possible overdose Friday night.

Police and emergency medical personnel responded at about 10:02 p.m. to a home near Goldridge and Allan streets for a reported medical emergency, the Selma Police Department said in a statement.

Officers found an unresponsive male inside the residence, officials said.

Despite lifesaving efforts, the teen was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not been released.

Preliminary information suggests the death may be related to a possible fentanyl overdose, though it has not been confirmed, police said.
