Madera County authorities made what officials are calling a “legen-dairy” arrest Wednesday after three newborn black Angus calves were reported stolen, the Madera County Sheriff’s Office reported.

A deputy responded to the 19000 block of Road 1 in Madera County following a report of livestock theft.

The investigation led to the identification of Efrain Gonzalez Servin, 39, of Merced as the primary suspect.
Detectives with the Madera County Sheriff’s Office located and arrested Gonzalez Servin.

The three calves were recovered and safely returned to their owner.
Gonzalez Servin was booked into the Madera County Jail on felony charges of grand theft, authorities said.
