The City of Clovis officially opened its second dog park with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on March 22, 2025. The new Letterman Dog Park, spanning nearly 30,000 square feet, features separate areas for small and large dogs, shaded spaces, and water fountains for both humans and canines.

“This all started in 2018, when the city finally realized that was a very important thing,” said Sarai Yanovski, Supervising Civil Engineer with the City of Clovis. “The city discovered that there was a need for dog parks at that time.”

Parks Manager Tim Breshears highlighted the park’s impressive size during the ceremony: “The smaller dog park is 10,000 square feet. The larger dog park is 20,000.”

The celebration drew approximately 80 community members and their dogs, who enjoyed refreshments and handmade dog treats. This project follows the city’s first dog park at Sierra Bicentennial Park and was made possible through California grant funding.

“People are so happy to have this in their neighborhood,” said Councilmember Lynne Ashbeck. “This is our second dog park in Clovis and our oldest park in Clovis. So it’s just great to see improvements in parks across our city.”
