GV Wire hosted a forum for candidates vying for the Fresno City Council District 5 seat on Thursday.
The forum featured Jose Leon Barraza, Fresno Parks Commission member; Elizabeth Jonasson Rosas, Fresno Unified School Board Trustee; and Brandon Vang, Sanger Unified School Board Trustee.
The candidates are competing to fill the seat vacated by Luis Chavez, who was elected to the Fresno County Board of Supervisors.
The special election will take place on March 18, with a potential runoff if no candidate secures a majority.

The production is made possible through a collaboration with CMAC, Fresno’s Community Media Access Collaborative.
