Kanye West, now legally Ye, sparked controversy again this weekend with a series of antisemitic posts on X (formerly Twitter), leading to his accounts vanishing.
Opinion
On Friday, Feb 7, Ye spammed X with unfiltered tweets, including: “I love Hitler. Now what B****es,” and “Hitler was sooooo fresh.” The posts quickly went viral, sparking backlash from fans and critics.
The anti-semtisim continued when Ye unexpectedly appeared in a very random Super Bowl ad on Sunday night, promoting his website selling T-shirts with swastikas on them. The plain white shirts, featuring a black swastika, were the only items displayed on the homepage of Yeezy.com as of Monday morning.
No explanation accompanied the design, just the label “HH-01.” The shirts were listed for sale at $20.
His X Account Disappears
Ye’s X account now displays this message: “This account doesn’t exist.”
However, before deactivating or deleting his profile, he left behind a final message:
“I’m logging out of Twitter. I appreciate Elon for allowing me to vent. It has been very cathartic to use the world as a sounding board. It was like an Ayahuasca trip. Love all of you who gave me your energy and attention. To we connect again. Good afternoon and good night.”
What Happened to the Old Kanye?
His latest actions have drawn widespread condemnation, with many social media users expressing disappointment and frustration.
Some reflected on Ye’s past song lyrics by referencing, “I miss the old Kanye.” However, his recent behavior has left many asking, where is the old Kanye that fans admired?
