Three suspects were arrested early Wednesday after leading Clovis police on a 23-mile pursuit that ended in southwest Fresno, the Clovis Police Department said in a statement.

A Clovis officer patrolling near Fowler and Alluvial avenues around 3:30 a.m. attempted to stop a suspicious vehicle, but the driver sped off, according to police.

Officers pursued the vehicle with assistance from the California Highway Patrol, which deployed spike strips to deflate the fleeing vehicle’s tires.

The chase ended near California and Orange avenues when a Clovis officer executed a PIT maneuver, forcing the vehicle to stop.

Stolen Mail From Over 100 Clovis Addresses

The three occupants fled on foot but were quickly apprehended by Clovis and Fresno police officers.

Authorities identified the suspects as Yer Vue, 42, and Amanda Lizarraga, 35, both of Fresno, and Sombat Vang, 30, of Clovis.

They were booked into Fresno County Jail on charges including mail theft, possession of stolen property, burglary tools, and conspiracy, police said.

Police said the suspects’ vehicle contained mail stolen from more than 100 Clovis addresses.

Detectives are working with U.S. Postal Inspectors to investigate the thefts and return stolen mail to residents.

One Clovis officer sustained a minor hand injury during the incident and was treated.

Authorities urged residents to check their mail daily, especially during tax season, and to report suspicious activity immediately.
