Drivers frustrated by the backup of vehicles during peak commute times at one of Madera County’s busiest intersections should soon get relief.

Significant changes are coming to the Highway 41 and Avenue 12 intersection, said Madera County Supervisor Jordan Wamhoff in a news release Friday morning.
The modifications include a full-time right-hand turn lane from eastbound Avenue 12 into southbound Highway 41.
“These interim modifications are an important step in addressing congestion and improving the daily commute for our residents,” said Wamhoff. “I want to thank Madera County Public Works and Caltrans for their partnership and commitment to working to improve the commute for the residents and visitors of Madera County.”
Construction is scheduled for 4 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and Saturday.
