Homicide detectives have linked two Fresno men in connection with the April 2024 killing of Jonathan Franco, 43, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.

Robert Saldana, 42, who has been in the Fresno County Jail since August 2024 following a robbery arrest, now faces an additional charge of murder, authorities said. He is being held without bail.

Gary Guerra, 55, was taken into custody on Saturday. He is also charged with murder and remains in jail with bail set at $1 million.

Deputies found Franco lying deceased in an alleyway along S. Frank Avenue, between E. Muscat and E. Grand Avenues, in the early morning hours of April 30, 2024.

He had suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the upper body.
