A former correctional officer at the Central California Women’s Facility in Madera County has been convicted of a staggering 64 counts of sexual assault involving nine female inmates, the Madera County District Attorney’s Office announced Wednesday.

Greg Rodriguez was found guilty by a Madera County jury. Rodriguez will be sentenced on April 17, 2025, and faces more than 70 years in state prison for his crimes, officials said.

The Madera County District Attorney’s Office extended its gratitude to the victims who courageously came forward and testified during the trial.

In a statement, the office expressed hope that the verdict offers some measure of comfort to the survivors, knowing Rodriguez is being held accountable for his actions.

Rodriguez’s conviction marks a significant step in addressing abuse within the prison system, as the survivors continue their journey toward healing.
