Four people were killed, and two others were injured in a fiery two-vehicle collision late Friday night in Fresno County, authorities said.

The crash occurred around 10:35 p.m. at the intersection of Floyd and Shaw avenues, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A Ford Econoline van traveling southbound on Floyd Avenue failed to yield at a stop sign and collided with a westbound Nissan Altima on Shaw Avenue.

The impact forced both vehicles off the road and onto the southwest shoulder, where they burst into flames.

Two men, ages 32 and 35, managed to escape the Altima before it was fully engulfed and were treated for moderate injuries, CHP said.

The driver and one passenger of the Ford, along with the driver and one passenger of the Nissan, were pronounced dead at the scene.
