A fight between three men at a Motel 6 on North Blackstone Avenue early Thursday morning ended with one man hospitalized for a stab wound, the Fresno Police Department told GV Wire.

At approximately 2:30 a.m. officers responded to the motel on Herndon and Blackstone avenues for reports of the altercation.

During the fight, one of the men pulled out a small knife and attempted to strike another man on the right side of his face.

The victim blocked the attack with his left hand, suffering a small laceration to the top of his hand.

The suspect then stabbed a victim in the chest.

The suspect, described as a 38 year-old, of Fresno, was taken into custody for assault with a deadly weapon, not involving a firearm, authorities said.
