The roads are now opened according to a social media post by the Madera County Sheriff’s Office.

Original Story

Madera County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a suspicious death after discovering a man on fire in a roadway early Thursday morning, they said in a statement.

Deputies responded to a disturbance call shortly before 3 a.m. on Children’s Boulevard, near Lanes Bridge and Highway 41. Officers found the dead man on fire in the eastbound lane.

An initial report to dispatch alleged that a woman had set her husband on fire.

Authorities have arrested an adult female, but the relationship between the two individuals has not been confirmed.

As of Thursday morning, the eastbound lane of Children’s Boulevard remains closed, with traffic detoured to Business Route 41.
