Local nonprofit leader Tiffany Apodaca is joining the Marjaree Mason Center team as its new crisis response manager.

The Marjaree Mason Center has served Fresno County for over 45 years, dedicated to providing shelter from domestic violence and support systems to those in need. Now, they are adding Apodaca’s extensive knowledge to their efforts.

Apodaca will be a key member of the center’s leadership team, supervising 24/7 crisis response operations for survivors of domestic violence.

Co-Founder of Breaking the Chains

She is the co-founder and former chief operating officer of Breaking the Chains, an anti-human trafficking organization that serves more than 800 survivors annually. Apodaca was responsible for the nonprofit’s emergency services for survivors, financial monitoring, community partnerships, and other duties.

Apodaca also founded Pledge 2 Stop Trafficking, a county-wide collaboration hub for anti-human trafficking agencies, and serves on the board of directors for the Warnors Center for Performing Arts and the Clovis Rotary Club.

“The Majaree Mason Center continues to grow to meet the increasing need for services here in Fresno County,” said Nicole Linder, CEO of the Marjaree Mason Center. “Tiffany is joining us at a critical time. Our crisis response services are a huge part of what we do.

“It’s a survivor’s first step towards healing, where they’re met with immediate safety, emotional support, trauma-informed care, and empowerment as we work alongside them to address their most critical needs. Tiffany’s experience (and) passion for this work make her a great asset to our team as we work towards building a healthier and safer community.”

Marjaree Mason’s Expansion

This appointment comes with the pending completion of the center’s new Isnardi Foundation Building, which will double its service capacity.

The $21 million project, which began in 2018, will house a 24/7 trauma-informed crisis drop-in center and hotline, both headed by Apodaca, as well as all of the center’s non-residential survivor services. This includes individual counseling, group therapy, legal advocacy, children’s services, and prevention and early intervention efforts.

Construction is expected to wrap up this month, with services transitioning to the new facility by early February.

The Marjaree Mason Community Resource Center will provide services at 255 W. West Bullard Ave. in Fresno. (GV Wire)
