The suspect in a double fatal collision Monday night has been identified as Joal Campbell, 36, the Fresno Police Department said in a statement.

Campbell, who was arrested at the scene, is receiving treatment at a local hospital for injuries sustained during the crash.

The incident occurred at about 7:18 p.m. at the intersection of Palm and Belmont avenues.

Officers responded to reports of a rollover accident involving two vehicles.

One vehicle, a Chevrolet truck, was overturned, and two males were trapped inside.

Authorities said one died at the scene and the other died shortly after arriving at the hospital.

Campbell, the driver of the second vehicle, was taken into custody on suspicion of DUI and transported to Community Regional Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries, according to authorities.
