DUI checkpoints conducted separately by Fresno and Clovis Police resulted in 12 drivers arrested for impaired driving on Saturday.

The Fresno Police Department reported that the checkpoint at Palm and Pinedale avenues ran from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m., leading to 10 DUI arrests and 21 citations for unlicensed or suspended/revoked licenses. A total of 278 vehicles were screened.

The next DUI enforcement operation will be scheduled for Wednesday, according to the Fresno PD.

Meanwhile, the Clovis Police Department reported that its sobriety/driver’s license checkpoint on Shaw near Minnewawa resulted in two drunk drivers and five license-related violations.

The Clovis checkpoint saw three cited for driving without a license, two for suspended licenses, and four vehicles towed.

Between 8:30 p.m. and 1 a.m., 922 vehicles passed through, with 369 drivers screened, the Clovis PD said.
