Bill Burr

Renowned comedian Bill Burr makes his way back to the Central Valley, making stops at Warnors Theatre on Wednesday and the Visalia Fox Theatre on Saturday.

His popularity continues to soar for his no-holds-barred routines accompanied by his distinct screaming voice. His anger fueled rants about women’s issues, traumatic childhoods, cancel culture, and the pay gap made him beloved by his fans. He caused a stir on social media with his bit on lack of ticket sales at WNBA games pre-Cailtin Clark.

Burr is an Emmy and Grammy Award nominee. He was the director/writer/producer/star of ā€œOld Dadsā€ which premiered in October 2023. It became the most-watched stream on Netflix in its first and second week of release. In 2022, he made history as the first comedian to perform at Boston’s Fenway Park.

One Enchanted Evening

Your cordially invited to one of Old Town Clovis’ best pre-Christmas events “One Enchanted Evening” on Thursday.

Jolly festivities will take place throughout the night. Groups of carolers will sing holiday songs. Hot chocolate will be provided and made specially by Santa’s elves. The businesses will be open to customers, and the exteriors will be decorated with white lights for yuletide galore. The biggest draw are the horse-drawn carriage rides that go up-and-down Pollasky Avenue.

Expect to see Santa Claus. Be sure to get your photos with good ol’ Saint Nick.

Ralph Barbosa

Chances are, Ralph Barbosa will have the Saroyan Theatre cracking up on Friday. His comedy made him an internet sensation and he’s bringing his viral humor to the stage and to the world.

Barbosa’s comparisons between California and Texas cannabis, his disgruntled one-star review towards his doctor, and how George Strait scared him away from country music helped him build an online fanbase. His chill approach to his bits, no matter the subject — Biden vs. Trump or being cocky for owning an apartment, for example — makes him stand out from other young comedians.

Last year, Barbosa premiered his first Netflix stand-up special, “Ralph Barbosa: Cowabunga” on the streaming service. He’s performed on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.” His set on Comedy Central topped 3.7 million views on YouTube. His “Don’t Tell Comedy” performance was released on YouTube and has over 6.9 million views.

West Coast Takeover

There’ll be nothing but California love at the West Coast Takeover at Selland Arena on Saturday. The night features a star-studded lineup of iconic hip-hop legends and rap loyalty. The performers include The Game, Mack 10, Too Short, DJ Quik, Suga Free, MC Magic, 2nd II None, Above the Law, Domino, and RBL Posse.

The Game’s debut album “The Documentary” went double platinum with two Grammy Award nominations. Mack 10 has sold nearly 11 million records with his solo and group projects. Too Short had four consecutive N0. 1 albums on Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart in the 90s.

The beats and hits will prove why West Coast hip hop was and will forever be the best.
