A suspect has been arrested in connection with a domestic violence-related homicide that took place Saturday morning, marking Clovis’ second homicide of the year, the Clovis Police Department reported in a statement.

Police arrived at a home near the intersection of Ashlan and Leonard avenues on Saturday, following reports of a disturbance.

Inside, officers say they found several family members, including children, and an adult woman who had been shot.

Despite attempts to save her, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Hours after the incident, the suspect, identified as Tavion Tapscott, 21, of Fresno, surrendered himself to authorities at the Clovis Police Department.

He faces charges of homicide, felony child endangerment, and other related offenses, according to authorities.

Tapscott knew the victim, though her identity has not been disclosed.
