Fresno Rotary surprised Marjaree Mason Center CEO Nicole Linder with a $100,000 donation to the domestic abuse shelter and counseling center at its Monday meeting.

Before announcing the donation, Fresno Rotary President Ryan Jacobsen said, “I can tell you this individual and organization being recognized has no clue they’re being recognized.”

Jacobsen then called Linder up to receive a ceremonial $100,000 check to help finish its building project.

The nonprofit is nearing completion of a $21 million Community Resource Center on Bullard Avenue near Maroa Avenue.

To meet the community’s growing needs, the center purchased the former 5.5-acre Milan Institute in December 2022 and is renovating the 37,680-square-foot building.

When it is finished, the Marjaree Mason team will move into a modern building that will be a 24/7 trauma-informed, physically and emotionally safe Community Resource Center for survivors of domestic violence and their children.

To learn how you can make a difference by donating to the construction fund, contact Ashlee Wolf at (559) 487-1313, email ashlee@mmcenter.org., or click this link.
