A felony suspect on the run for months was arrested in Nevada after being wanted on burglary and other charges, Clovis Police announced Tuesday.

Donelle Smith, 26, was taken into custody just over the state line in Nevada after a pursuit involving California Highway Patrol, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, and Henderson, Nevada Police.

Smith had been wanted for violating his post release community supervision since February 2024.

Earlier this month, police say, he broke into a Clovis Costco, smashed a display case, and stole $15,000 in jewelry before fleeing.

He was extradited to California on Friday and booked into Fresno County Jail on multiple charges.

Customers shop for groceries at Whole Foods in Harlem on May 31, 2024. Congress is feuding over a new farm bill, making lawmakers likely to punt the matter for another year and leave American farmers and families on food assistance without an update to the legislation that controls how much federal support they receive.
