Authorities responded to a report of shots fired near an AutoZone store at the intersection of Clinton and Cedar avenues on Wednesday afternoon. The call came in around 3:40 p.m., but when deputies arrived, they found no gunshot victims at the scene.
According to authorities, the incident stemmed from a disturbance involving a large group of students from nearby McLane High School. During the altercation, a gun was drawn, and several shots were fired, causing the crowd to scatter. Bullets hit a parked vehicle and a building, but no injuries were reported.

Witnesses at the scene provided deputies with descriptions of the individuals involved, including the suspected gunman. Approximately 30 minutes after the shooting, deputies detained a person matching the gunman’s description. Investigators are continuing to follow leads and search the area for others who may have been involved.
