Homicide detectives are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred late Wednesday night in Riverdale, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office says.

Deputies responded to a 911 call shortly before midnight from a residence near Mount Whitney and Garfield Avenues and found a man with bullet wounds.

Despite efforts by deputies and EMS personnel to administer first aid, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Homicide detectives, with assistance from the Crime Scene Unit, are working the case. According to officials, people known to each other were at the home at the time of the fatal shooting.

No arrests have been made, and the victim’s identity has not been released.
