The 142-acre Muscat Fire, which ignited Monday afternoon, has been fully contained, according to Cal Fire. The blaze was situated at East Muscat Avenue and South Crawford Avenue in Granite Hill, Fresno County.

Cal Fire is currently managing three other active fires under the “Lightning Complex” designation This complex, sparked by a summer storm that produced over 1,000 lightning strikes across Fresno County, spans 7,002 acres and includes the Flash Fire, Bolt Fire, and Hog Fire.

  • Flash Fire: Burning in steep, rocky terrain along Kings Canyon Road and Cove Road, the 2,180-acre Flash Fire is proving challenging for firefighters and is 15% contained as of Wednesday.
  • Bolt Fire: It has scorched 4,556 acres in the Wonder Valley area at Palomino Drive and Elwood Road. The fire was 10% contained as of Wednesday. It is burning through steep, rugged terrain in grass and oak woodlands.
  • Hog Fire: Located on Watts Valley Road near Hog Mountain Road, this fire has burned 180 acres and was 40% contained as of Wednesday.

Evacuations have been ordered for the Flash Fire and Bolt Fire in zones K73, K77, and K75 south of Elwood Road. Evacuation warnings are in place for zones K93, K72, K134, and K75 north of Elwood Road. Additionally, Highway 180 is closed from Cove Road to Dunlap Road due to the fires.

Cal Fire has 288 personnel, 28 engines, 8 dozers, 3 water tenders, and 12 crews working on fighting the Lightning Complex flames.
