Trailing badly in one poll and ostracized by some fellow Democrats, incumbent U.S. Rep. Jamaal Bowman doubled down on his criticism of AIPAC and America’s close ties to Israel in profanity-laced remarks at a Bronx campaign rally on Saturday.
Bowman called out the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, which recently launched a $14.5 million campaign against his reelection.
“We are gonna show f—ing AIPAC the power of the motherf—ing South Bronx,” Bowman told a cheering audience.
“People ask me why I got a foul mouth,” he continued. “What am I supposed to do? You coming after me. You coming after my family. You coming after my children. I’m not supposed to fight back? I’m not supposed to fight back? We’re gonna show them who the f— we are.”
Bowman also criticized U.S. support to Israel in the war in Gaza, which was triggered by the surprise Hamas attack on Israel.
In its Oct. 7 cross-border assault, Hamas-led militants killed 1,200 people and took 250 people captive, including women, children, and older people. Dozens were freed in a temporary cease-fire deal in late November and of the 120 remaining hostages, Israel says about a third are dead.
Israel’s retaliatory war has killed more than 37,000 Palestinians, according to the Health Ministry in the Hamas-ruled territory. It also has sparked a humanitarian crisis and displaced most of the territory’s 2.3 million population.
“We are not gonna stay silent while the U.S. tax dollar kills babies and women and children,” Bowman said. “My opponent supports genocide. My opponent and AIPAC are the ones destroying our democracy.”
NY Democrat: Bowman’s Speech an ‘Unhinged Tirade’
Rep. Ritchie Torres (D-N.Y.) ripped Bowman’s rally remarks.
“The level of profanity here is so shocking as to be unbecoming of a Member of Congress,” Torres said on X. “There is nothing in Jamaal Bowman’s unhinged tirade that remotely resembles the decency of the people I know and represent in the South Bronx.”

Bowman Far Behind Moderate Challenger in Recent Poll
Westchester County Executive George Latimer, a moderate Democrat, is challenging Bowman.
A recent poll conducted by PIX11, Emerson College, and The Hill showed Latimer leading Bowman 48% to 31%.
If he wins Tuesday’s 25 primary, Latimer will be the first moderate Dem to unseat a member of the progressive “Squad.”
