Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Meet Spikey, the pint-sized wonder pup with a story that tugs at the heartstrings and a future as bright as his fur is fluffy. At just 3 ½ months old, Spikey, a German shepherd mix (or according to DNA, a certified Supermutt!), has already faced more challenges than many dogs twice his size.

Spike, in the litter with the same pup who was tested, is noted as 22% Supermutt. (Mell’s Mutts)

His journey began tragically when his mother met an untimely end, leaving Spikey and his siblings orphaned at a mere 2 weeks old.

Thankful hearts and deft hands stepped in, providing round-the-clock bottle feedings to ensure Spikey and his littermates thrived. Today, Spikey tips the scales at 25 pounds of pure puppy joy, with predictions pointing towards a hefty 60 pounds when fully grown!

Despite his rocky start, Spikey’s spirit remains undaunted. He’s a lover of cuddles, particularly relishing being held over a shoulder like the baby he still kinda is (a rapidly growing one!).

Playtime finds him in his element, romping with dogs of all shapes and sizes, showing a complete indifference to the feline crowd (sorry, cats!).

Spikey taking a rest after a full day of fun. (Mell’s Mutts)

Described as confident, brave, and endlessly curious, Spikey embodies the resilience of youth and the boundless potential of mixed-breed magic.

As he bounds into the future, leaving paw prints on hearts along the way, one thing is certain: Spikey’s story is far from over. With three puppies from the same litter still finding their forever homes, who knows where Spikey’s tale will wag next!

Prospective adopters must submit an adoption application for review to ensure the best match for each pup. Spikey’s journey showcases the resilience of animals and the power of compassion in making a difference. Spikey’s story is a testament to hope, reminding us that every animal deserves a chance at happiness and security.
