If you’re looking to party and listen to great music, returning this summer is the Party Outback Tribute Series at Chukchansi Resort and Boots N’ Booze at Evanelle Vineyards.

On the actual day we celebrate our dads, there’ll be themed activities like the Father’s Day Run at Woodward Park and The Dad Games at Dave & Buster’s.

Check out our expanded list of events at this link.

Smokey Robinson

The legendary Smokey Robinson will perform at the Saroyan Theatre on Thursday. With a career spanning over four decades, Robinson’s influence in music is unparalleled. His legend is fortified by hits like “Shop Around,” “Just to See Her,” and “Cruisin’.” Guaranteed you’ll see him play those jams.

From his days with The Miracles to his solo success, the Motown soul man continues to captivate audiences worldwide. You can’t deny his soulful melodies and impeccable talent.

I saw him perform live at The Big Fresno Fair back in 2021. The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer can belt out those tunes and showed the crowd he’s still got it. My personal favorite of his is “Love Machine.”

It figures to be an unforgettable night of timeless classics and chart-topping hits.

Party Outback Tribute Series ā€” Metalachi

Chukchansi Gold Resort & Casinoā€™s 2024 Party Out Back Tribute Series kicks with a fantastic lineup of iconic tribute bands and legendary performances. This free concert series starts Friday with Metalachi.

I’ve heard about this group for the longest time. Metalachi hails from Los Angeles and they’ve been entertaining audiences for over a decade. They’ve performed at Heavy Montreal, Megacruise, and the Monsters of Rock Cruise.

Their niche is classic rock and heavy metal tunes in the style of mariachi music. It’s funny, entertaining, and captivating all at once. A fun event to attend.

Boots N’ Booze

Boots N’ Booze is back this Saturday at Evanelle Vineyards in Madera at 8444 Road 29. The event is both indoors and outdoors. DJ Garrett Gaynor will spin country hits and country star Franklin Wall is headlining the stage.

There’ll be multiple full bars serving beer, wine, and cocktails. The food trucks include Gonzalez Taqueria, Jill & Jill Artisan Pizzas, Ms. Chilosa Candy, and Flavor Flame. The other amenities areĀ  Kash + Easton Permanent Jewelry, Culture Vaquera selling cowboy attire, and Aldo Cigar Lounge. At the 8o5 Beer cooling tents there’ll be corn hole and beer pong. You can test your luck on the mechanical bull.

Evanelle Vineyards has been growing and establishing itself not only as a wedding venue but a great setting for entertainment. They do outdoor movies. I attended one during Halloween last year and it was so much fun.

Gather your friends, put on your boots, and have a good time.

Anthony Jeselnik

Stand-up comedian Anthony Jeselnik is providing the laughs this Saturday at Saroyan Theatre. Renowned for his Netflix specials, uproarious podcast, and Comedy Central Roasts, Jeselnik is a force to be reckoned with.

In 2013, he hosted his own Comedy Central series for two seasons, “The Jeselnik Offensive.” He also hosted NBC’s Emmy Award-nominated series “Last Comic Standing” in 2015. With his deep voice and deadpan humor, he has a delivery so unique that only he can pull it off.

He kills it when he performs at roasts. He’s given it to former President Donald Trump and comedian Roseanne Barr. My personal favorite was when he cooked actor Charlie Sheen.

Brit Floyd

Pink Floyd tribute band Brit Floyd will its return to the Saroyan Theatre on Sunday. They’re commemorating 50 years of the band’s iconic album, “The Dark Side of the Moon.” This new production promises a mesmerizing 2.5-hour set featuring classic hits like “Time,” “Money,” and more.

It’ll be led by musical director Damian Darlington. They get the details right when it comes to the legendary visual presentation of the band. Without a doubt, there’s going be a laser and light show accompanying every song and a bewildering theatrical production.

They’re considered one of the best tribute acts to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band. They once played at a birthday party for the original singer-guitarist David Gilmour at his invitation. During that performance they played with the late great original keyboardist Rick Wright. Gilmour enjoyed it and gave them his approval.
