According to Al Jazeera, a 200-person protest against the war on Gaza took place in Mexico City on Tuesday.

The demonstrators gathered outside the Israeli embassy under the banner “Urgent Action for Rafah.”

Police confronted the protesters, leading some to break down barriers. Protesters, wearing face coverings, threw stones at the riot police blocking their path.

The police responded by deploying tear gas and throwing stones back at the crowd.

The protest was organized after an Israeli attack on a displacement camp outside Rafah on Sunday evening, which Palestinian officials say killed 45 people and sparked an inferno.

In addition to the Al Jazeera report, The Free Press Journal, an Indian English-language daily, posted a video depicting the protest that resulted in setting the Israeli Embassy ablaze with Molotov cocktails.
