The odds-defying Fresno State women’s volleyball team is set to face no. 1-seeded Stanford in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
The Bulldogs will take on the Cardinal on Friday, Dec. 1 at 7 p.m. at Maples Pavilion in Palo Alto. The match will stream live on the PAC-12 Network.
This is Fresno State’s first appearance in the NCAA tournament since 2002 and the first time the Bulldogs will face the Cardinal since 1999.
The Bulldogs defeated Colorado State in a reverse sweep last Friday at the Cox Pavilion in Las Vegas for their first Mountain West Conference title.
Fresno State (19-13) received an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament as the Mountain West Tournament Champions. The field of 64 teams includes 32 automatic bids and 32 at-large bids. Stanford earned an automatic berth to the NCAA tournament by earning the program’s 21st league title, going 26-3 on the season.
