A fire Friday demolished four structures of a luxury apartment complex under construction in Visalia.
It took two hours for the Visalia Fire Department to contain the two-alarm blaze an apartment complex under construction at Riggin Avenue and Akers Street, according to the Visalia Fire Department.
Crews from Cal Fire and from the Tulare County Fire Department were needed to cover Visalia fire stations. In total, seven fire engines, two ladder trucks and two chiefs responded to the call. It took 29 fire personnel to contain the blaze.
By the time the fire was put out, it had claimed four buildings and damaged two others.
Authorities estimated that the damage was in the millions. The fire’s cause remains under investigation.
There were no injuries reported.
