Tulare Man Convicted on 20 Counts of Molesting Two Girls and a Boy

A Tulare County jury has convicted 52-year-old Steven Brian Arey on 20 counts of molesting two girls and a boy.

Arey, 52, of Tulare, was found guilty on Friday. He faces 300 years to life at his scheduled May 26 sentencing.
According to a Tulare County District Attorney’s Office news release:
- Eighteen of the sexual assaults occurred between Jan. 1, 1996, and Nov. 1, 2002, against a boy who was between 7 and 13 years old at the time.
- One sexual assault was on a girl between Jan. 1, 1996, and Aug. 29, 2000. She was between 10 and 13 at the time.
- Another sexual assault was inflicted on a different girl between Jan. 1, 1996, and March 5, 2001. She was between 8 and 13 years old.
- All of the crimes occurred in Tulare County.
Deputy DA Chelsea Wayt prosecuted the case, which was investigated by Sgt. Matt Muller of the Tulare Police Department.
