It’s probably not the smartest move to take a loaded gun and drugs into the Fresno County Courthouse.

But that’s what convicted felon Christian Ward of Las Vegas tried to do on Friday, March 3, according to Fresno County Sheriff’s deputies.

A sheriff’s spokesman said that an x-ray machine in the court’s screening area exposed a handgun and methamphetamine in Ward’s bag.

Deputies arrested Ward, 25, for being a felon in possession of a firearm and booked him into jail, where he remains. His bail is $335,000.
