A Tulare County woman pleaded guilty on Monday in Fresno federal court to distributing 3.5 pounds of methamphetamine.

According to court documents, Alma Sanchez, 50, of Alpaugh, provided the meth to another drug trafficker in June 2021 and January 2022. The second trafficker then immediately resold the drugs on each occasion.

Sanchez is scheduled to be sentenced by U.S. District Judge Jennifer L. Thurston on May 30. Sanchez faces a maximum of 20 years in prison and a $1 million fine.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Antonio J. Pataca is prosecuting the case.

An investigation involving the DEA, the Coalinga Police Department, the Fresno Police Department, the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office, and the Tulare County High Intensity Drug Trafficking Unit led to Sanchez’s arrest.
