Illegal Street Racing Believed Factor in Fatal Bakersfield Hit and Run

Bakersfield police are looking for a suspect in an alleged fatal hit-and-run that occurred Thursday night that a witness said was connected to illegal street racing.
Officers responded to the scene of the incident just before 8:30 p.m., according to a news release from the Bakersfield Police Department.
They located a man suffering life-threatening injuries. He was taken to a local hospital via ambulance where he was pronounced dead, the BPD said.
A witness at the scene said the driver was participating in illegal street racing just prior to the incident, according to the release.
