Clovis police are crediting their social media followers for helping to identify a suspect in recent smash and grab vehicle burglary.
The department posted surveillance camera images to Facebook of the early morning break-in of a truck on Oct. 28. The suspect, who is wearing a mask and baseball cap can be seen peering through the truck’s window and looking in the vehicle’s open bed. The accompanying post said footage shows him smashing a window and stealing property.
The department asked for the public’s help in identifying the man.
On Monday, Clovis police identified him as 28-year-old Christopher Dunning, who is currently on probation for robbery and other crimes.
“Your tips assisted with his identification!” the Clovis PD’s Monday Facebook post said.
Dunning’s whereabouts are unknown, the post said. He’s now wanted for felony vehicle burglary and violation of probation.
The department said anyone with information about where to find Dunning should contact Clovis police or Central Valley Crimestoppers.
