Madera Unified School District is hosting a Zoom online teleconference at 5:30 p.m. Monday to talk about the governor’s mandate closing schools in COVID-19 watchlist counties such as Madera.

Counties that have rising infection or hospitalization rates are put on the watchlist.

Once Madera County is off the watchlist for 14 consecutive days, district officials say the plan is for students to return to school for in-person learning.

If you miss Monday’s Zoom meeting, district staff will provide additional information at Tuesday’s school board meeting, which starts at 6 p.m. The Tuesday meeting also will be conducted on Zoom.
