A significant storm is on course to hit the San Joaquin Valley on Sunday, and the National Weather Service in Hanford predicts widespread rain through Monday.
The storm, which could hit northern California as early as Saturday, is also expected to deliver as much as two feet of snow in the Sierra.

Travelers heading toward Lake Tahoe could face difficult conditions at times, according to the National Weather Service in Reno. Light snow is forecast for Saturday with heavier snow expected to arrive Sunday morning. In addition, the forecast calls for wind gusts up to 55 mph along Highway 95 near the California-Nevada border Sunday evening and night.
