At times, Fresno politics can get a little wild and crazy โ€” especially on social media.
But  Julie Solis, a progressive Democratic candidate challenging incumbent Republican Assemblyman Vince Fong in the 34th District, jumped the shark at Tuesdayโ€™s Kern County Board of Supervisors meeting.

Clean Energy, and What Did She Just Say?

With an estimated 2,000 crammed into the chambers, Solis began talking about the benefits of clean energy. But then board chair Leticia Perez, a fellow Democrat, told her to wrap up her talk and stop campaigning. Solis responded with the words that caused the video below to go viral.
โ€œIf I was campaigning, I would bring up about, youโ€™re worried about Saudia Arabia, when you go around telling people they just want to have sex with me because of my big (breasts),โ€ Solis said.

Democrats Didnโ€™t Endorse Solis

As to the why of Solisโ€™ outburst, perhaps itโ€™s connected to the fact that Kern County Democrats declined to endorse her candidacy.
โ€œIโ€™ve been harassed so much, especially by Leticia Perez and the establishment Democrats here in Kern County,โ€ Solis said. โ€œIโ€™ve been slut-shamed. Iโ€™ve been called every name in the book. Iโ€™ve been a called a whore, a slut,โ€ Solis told KGET17 reporter Karen Hua.
โ€œWhat did I say that was so wrong?โ€
