The Big Fresno Fair opens Wednesday with $5 entry, a concert featuring country music singer Chris Janson, and lots of buzz about a spicy chimichanga stuffed with chicken, mac and cheese, bacon, and dipped in Flamin’ Hot Cheetos.
In addition, the fair will unveil a tribute Wednesday to Fresno State football coach Jeff Tedford in the new Iron Mountain sculpture garden just east of The Pavilion gazebo near the carnival area.

Battle for Bragging Rights in Food Fight

Food, of course, is one of the fair’s big attractions.
On Thursday, for the first time, the concessionaires will battle it out in the Big Fresno Fair Food Fight. Winners will be crowned in three categories — Best Savory, Best Sweet, and Best Beverage — by a panel of judges. The competition begins at 2 p.m. at the Pavilion Stage.

Willie Nelson Caps off This Year’s Fair

The fair ends its 13-day run on Monday, Oct. 14, with country music superstar Willie Nelson center stage at the Paul Paul Theatre. You can see the entire concert lineup at this link.
Discount entry tickets of $2 for Thursday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. are available to people who follow the fair on social media. Learn how to access those tickets here. All carnival rides are $2 on Thursday as well.

Iron Mountain

Fair Admission, Parking

Entry to the fair is $12 adults, $8 children 6-12, with children 5-and-under free. The price for seniors 62-and-over and military members is $8. Parking in fair lots is $5 to $15.
