Leading philanthropists from the Central Valley were recognized during a luncheon in Fresno last week. Seven individuals, companies and organizations received awards at the annual event celebrating National Philanthropy Day.
The local honorees for 2017 are:
Claude Laval III, founder of Lakos – Outstanding Philanthropist Award
Linda Gleason, founding member of The Children’s Movement of Fresno – Distinguished Achievement Award
Humanics@Fresno State/Students4Giving Philanthropy Project – Outstanding Youth in Philanthropy Award
Kathleen Price, Chief Development Officer at EPU Children’s Center – Outstanding Fundraising Professional
Moss Adams, Fresno Office – Outstanding Philanthropic Organization: Company
Leon S. Peters Foundation – Outstanding Philanthropic Organization: Foundation
Trisha Cooper, Board President of EPU Children’s Center – Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser
First celebrated in 1989, National Philanthropy Day is set aside to recognize the contributions of philanthropy to the enrichment of the world. The local luncheon event is hosted annually by the Association of Fundraising Professionals Central Valley Chapter.
