Students attending Central Unified schools are better prepared for winter thanks to theĀ support of Granville Homes.
This week, the annual Coats for Kids program distributed jackets to more than 800 students across the district. Funding was provided by a $15,000 donation from Granville to the Foundation for Central Schools.
“Many students in our district arrive at school without warm clothing during the winter months, affecting their ability to learn or play outside in cold temperatures,” Central Unified Superintendent Mark Sutton said. “It is always a treat to see the kids’ faces when they receive a new coat.”
The partnership between Granville and the Foundation for Central Schools is now in its 10th year. The company’s donation also supports the foundation’s Holiday Joy canned food drive that provides food to over 350 Central Unified and community families, a district spokesperson said.
