Join the Fresno Chaffee Zoo and San Joaquin River Parkway and Conservation Trust to celebrate California’s wildlife through a day of special events and activities!

There will be two sets of hands-on activities taking place on Saturday, August 31st, followed by a celebration for all event participants.

Phase 1 – 7 AM – 9 AM: Learn – Join us for a mini BioBlitz event or class to learn more about the San Joaquin River and the flora and fauna that call this ecosystem home

Phase 2 – 9 AM – 11 AM: Lend a Hand – Give back by joining a hands-on event restoring the natural environment

Phase 3 – 11 AM – 1 PM: Celebrate! – Head to the River Center to enjoy lunch from the onsite food trucks, learn more about local conservation organizations tabling on site, and enjoy free ice cream and popsicles. All participants in Phase 1 and Phase 2 events will receive tickets to be entered into a drawing for prizes donated by participating organizations, which will be held at 12:00 pm.

Steven Sanchez, a resident of Clovis, graduated from Buchanan High School in the class of 2007 and obtained his film degree from University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Steven is a multifaceted artist, working as a filmmaker, writer, photographer, videographer, and published author. He has a profound passion for movies, comic books, and rock ‘n’ roll. A dedicated football enthusiast, he cheers for the Las Vegas Raiders. In his leisure time, he indulges in reading and collecting vinyl records. Steven is often found attending rock shows in town, a keen enthusiast of live music. He holds a special fondness for his grandma's homemade meals and spending time with his twin sister.
