Fresno Police Issue 68 Citations, Arrest 1 DUI in Street Racing Operation

Fresno police conducted a Sunday targeted enforcement operation over the weekend that resulted in dozens of citations and multiple impounded vehicles in response to reported street racing activity, according to the Fresno Police Department.

The department’s Motors Unit responded to several locations tied to street racing activity, including Fulton Mall, Clovis and Tulare avenues, Blackstone and Bullard avenues, and Herndon  and Palm avenues.

During the operation, officers conducted 68 vehicle stops and issued 68 citations. Twelve vehicles were impounded, including four placed under 30-day impound holds.

Officers also reported one DUI arrest and one felony reckless driving case.

Authorities warned that participation in illegal street racing or sideshows, including aiding and abetting, can result in a 30-day vehicle impound.

The department urged witnesses of sideshow activity to move to a safe location and call 911 or 559-621-RACE (7223).
