Fresno authorities arrested a man Tuesday in connection with a strip mall fire that occurred last week.

The Fresno Fire Department responded Thursday, April 2, to a blaze in the 1600 block of East Ashlan Avenue.

Fire officials said surveillance footage captured a person intentionally setting multiple fires shortly before the building caught fire.

Investigators from the Fresno Fire Department and Fresno Police Department identified and apprehended Kaliff Alabanzahall, 43.

He was found nearby the area of the strip mall when he was arrested, fire officials said.

He was booked into Fresno County Jail and faces two counts of felony arson, officials said.
