Los Lobos & Los Lonely Boys

Grammy Award-winning bands Los Lobos and Los Lonely Boys bring their eclectic and distinctive Latin flavor to Chukchansi Gold Resort & Casino with The Brotherhood Tour on Saturday.

Los Lobos is a Mexican-American rock band from East Los Angeles. They rose to international stardom in 1987, when their version of “La Bamba” peaked at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 and also topped the charts in the United Kingdom and several other countries. They’ve been nominated for 12 Grammy Awards and won four.

Los Lonely Boys is from San Angelo, Texas, and they play “Texican Rock n’ Roll” comprising of rock and roll, Texas blues, brown-eyed soul, country, and Tejano music. The trio is made up of brothers Henry Garza (guitar/vocals), Jojo Garza (bass/vocals), and Ringo Garza (drums/vocals). Their debut single, “Heaven”, was a No.1 hit on the Billboard adult contemporary chart and reached the top 40 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2004. The song won a Grammy Award for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal.

Candlelight: Tribute to Coldplay and Featuring Vivaldiā€™s Four Seasons

Candlelight is a series of concerts performed by classically trained musicians while surrounded by LED candles, giving it a dramatic effect. They’ve played in Fresno this summer and return this weekend with two performances at The Grand 1401.

On Friday theyā€™ll do a strings tribute to Coldplayā€™s majestic sounds. Expect the bandā€™s defining songs like ā€œClocks,ā€ ā€œMy Universe,ā€ and ā€œSpeed of Sound.ā€

Then, on Saturday, theyā€™ll perform Vivaldiā€™s Four Seasons and more.

I’ve seen this show in-person; it was a tribute to the music of Adele. They sell it as a unique experience and it is. The musicians are first rate, and the candles make the show epic.
