NewsA 14-year-old boy, who is a student at Sanger West High School and whom authorities say has connections to a local street gang, has been apprehended by Fresno County Sheriff’s Office homicide detectives for the alleged murder of 55-year-old Ruben Ramirez of Parlier.
The incident occurred on Sunday, March 12, around 5:15 p.m., when the sheriff’s office received a distress call about a shooting victim. Deputies arrived at the intersection of Bethel and Jefferson avenues in Del Rey, where they discovered Ramirez in a vehicle, succumbing to a gunshot wound.
Preliminary investigations suggest that Ramirez was shot in Del Rey a few minutes prior to the deputies’ arrival. A friend, in an attempt to get him to safety, had been driving him away from the scene but had to pull over due to the severity of Ramirez’s injury.
