On Monday morning, Fresno Mayor Jerry Dyer, Police Chief Paco Balderrama, and Councilmember Mike Karbassi unveiled the city’s plan to crack down on street racing and sideshows.
The unit will have 10 police officers and a sergeant. In addition to street enforcement, officers will scour social media looking for the locations and dates of planned sideshows.
The public can help save lives, as well, by phoning in tips to the (559) 621-RACE hotline.
