NewsRepublican Representative and House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer has suggested “we should have a military presence” in Mexico following a kidnapping that resulted in the deaths of two Americans.
The kidnapping, believed to be committed by cartel members, has put pressure on the Biden administration to take greater action against border issues and Mexican cartels. Comer believes a military presence is important for protecting Americans.

However, Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador has warned the U.S. not to overstep the mark with any response. The Mexican government is working and cooperating with their American counterparts but will not allow foreign countries to intervene, he said.
