Carr Brothers Quarterbacked $10M Fresno State-Valley Children’s Pact
A consulting agency formed by Derek and David Carr this year played a pivotal role in the 10-year, $10 million contract announced Thursday by Fresno State and Valley Children’s Healthcare.

The agency’s name is CMP Enterprises, Inc. It advises corporations and other entities on branding, marketing, and sponsorships.
In fact, CMP negotiated the agreement between Valley Children’s and Fresno State.
Under the agreement, Valley Children’s will provide $1 million a year to Fresno State for 10 years. The funds will go to “operations, scholarships, collaborations for student-athletes, youth programs, opportunities to support students pursuing degrees in health, and other opportunities,” the university said in a news release.
The agreement between VCH and Fresno State covers the naming rights of Bulldog Stadium and, over the next decade, could result in improvements to the stadium, university officials said.

“David and I are very fortunate to have strong ties to both Valley Children’s and Fresno State,” said Derek Carr, who starred at Fresno State before becoming the Las Vegas Raiders starting quarterback. “Both institutions exist to serve the greater Central Valley. I believe that the best leaders serve others. This is exactly the mission of both Valley Children’s and Fresno State. Both are leaders in the Valley, and, this partnership just made so much sense to us.”
In addition to arranging and negotiating the agreement, CMP Enterprises will remain closely involved in the Fresno State-Valley Children partnership as it evolves, the company said.
“Our hope is that this partnership will provide an opportunity to enhance the many wonderful programs which are already in existence, and, hopefully, create some new opportunities as well,” said David Carr, a former Bulldogs standout who played 11 NFL seasons before becoming a pro football analyst.
