Nashville superstar Miranda Lambert’s love of dogs is well-chronicled.
Last year, for example, she spent three days rounding up loose dogs on the streets of hurricane-devastated Houston.

“I always try to combine my two passions which are music and mutts. I’ve gotten to meet some amazing people that run shelters in the communities where we perform, and I always love connecting with other dog-loving fans.” — Miranda Lambert
Eight years before that, she and her mother, Bev, founded the MuttNation Foundation. The goal, according to the foundation’s website, is to “help shine the spotlight on rescue animals and shelters … to ensure that as many dogs as possible would have a safe and happy place to call home.”
The foundation, according to Rolling Stone, “provides funding for shelters in all 50 states, and also organizes adoption drives and emergency relief operations.”
Friday night she will sing her heart out at Fresno’s Save Mart Center and support For the Sake of Dogs, a local, no-kill dog shelter that has partnered with the Petco Foundation.

Here’s How to Meet Lambert

How do you get into the meet-and-greet with Lambert?
First, you drop off unopened pet food, toys or supplies — cash donations are welcomed, too — inside the Save Mart Center’s North West entrance. Then you sign up and cross your fingers that you win.

Lambert Has Eight Rescue Dogs

Lambert, whose 24-city “Livin Like Hippies” tour started Jan. 18 in Greenville, South Carolina, encourages pet supply donations at every stop.
“I always try to combine my two passions which are music and mutts,” says Lambert, the owner of eight rescue dogs. “I’ve gotten to meet some amazing people that run shelters in the communities where we perform, and I always love connecting with other dog-loving fans.”
Rolling Stone reported last December that MuttNation had “unveiled a new line of pet products in collaboration with the Petmate brand, with all proceeds going to (Lambert’s) dog-loving charity.”
